The price of a taxi ride is determined by the hour meter (taximeter) which must be fitted to each taxi.
The operating principle of the taximeter is identical to all taxis but depending on whether it is Parisian taxis or provincial taxis, the application of the mileage and time terms differs.
The details of the tariffs and their applications are defined by prefectural decree for each department.
• PC DAY / NIGHT : it is the support, either the starting amount of the meter when it is started.
• KM : price per kilometer
• HOUR : hourly rate, it engages automatically as soon as the speedometer is on and the vehicle is stationary (traffic jam, customer expectation) or alternating with the kilometer rate when the speed reaches the point of conjunction of the hourly and kilometer rates (vehicle speed less than : hourly rate divided by the applied kilometer rate), in this case the accounting by the kilometer rate stops.
MARNE TAXIS:
• KM A : price per kilometer, applicable for a return trip during the day from Monday to Saturday inclusive.
• KM B : price per kilometer, applicable for an outward and return trip at night from Monday to Saturday inclusive or day and night on Sundays and public holidays.
• KM C : price per kilometer, applicable for a one-way trip during the day from Monday to Saturday inclusive.
• KM D : price per kilometer, applicable for a one-way night trip from Monday to Saturday inclusive or. day and night on Sundays and public holidays.
• Day or night schedules vary from one department to another but are most often :
Day 7 am-7pm or 8 am-8pm - Night 7 pm-7am or 8 pm-8am
• Whatever the amount displayed on the meter, the minimum sum to be paid varies according to the department within a range of 7.10 € to 7.30 €
• Tariff supplements are applicable for the carriage of an additional passenger from the 5th and for baggage beyond three bags per passenger or for any baggage requiring the use of external equipment.
• Packages are applicable from or to Nice and Monaco airport by Cannois and Niçois taxis and from or to Toulouse Blagnac airport by Toulousain taxis.
• With the exception of Cannes taxis, Nice, Lyonnais and Toulousains who apply a flat-rate supplement, when booking from a terminal, a radio exchange or a company, the approach is billed at the departure station or possibly for the radio exchanges according to a scale deposited with the prefecture.
